The case involving two of the three suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Jabulile Ntimba in Dawn Park, Boksburg, has been postponed to 1 October 2026 for a bail application.
Fortunate Masilela and Tsakane Nester Msithini were the only two accused who appeared in court. They face charges of premeditated murder as well as defeating or obstructing the course of justice in connection with Ntimba’s death.
According to police, the murder is believed to have stemmed from a suspected love triangle.
The third person who was arrested did not appear in court. Authorities said investigations are still under way into possible connections between the suspect and other murders in the area.
The case comes amid growing concern over a series of killings in Ekurhuleni. Police say nine women have been found murdered in the region since July.
Deputy National Police Commissioner for Policing, Lieutenant General Tebello Mosikili, confirmed that the two accused who appeared in court have been remanded in custody until their next appearance.
Mosikili said the third suspect has not yet been formally enrolled in the case, meaning that the person has not yet been brought before the court in connection with the charges.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue examining whether there are links between the Dawn Park murder and other cases involving the deaths of women in Ekurhuleni.R
